On 2 July 2026 the FBI seized hundreds of domains associated with NetNut as part of a coordinated action with Google, Lumen Technologies, the Shadowserver Foundation and IRS Criminal Investigation. Reporting described a network of around two million consumer devices, tracked by researchers as the Popa botnet.
