Taking the filtering claim seriously
NodeMaven markets a filtered pool: rather than exposing every address it can reach, it screens for quality and serves the survivors. That is a legitimate product decision, and it means a smaller measured pool is expected rather than a failure.
The question is what the filter buys. Across five countries it returned 108,664 live addresses, against 279,244 from our own network in the same windows. France came back with 8,289 addresses across just 34 operators, and Germany 5,878 across 135.
If filtering were producing markedly cleaner traffic you would expect it to show up as very high completion rates. It did not: between 53.1% and 68.1% of our requests returned inside the timeout, the second lowest in the series after ProxyEmpire.
Speed, failures and what it costs
Median responses ran from 1,867 ms in Canada to 3,383 ms in the United Kingdom. Against a mid-table network that is roughly four to six times slower, and it is the second slowest set of timings we recorded.
We are careful about the cause. The runs were not designed to isolate whether the failures were a concurrency ceiling, a capacity limit or something else, so we report the timeouts as observed and do not offer a theory.
On price, $2.20 per GB on a monthly plan is mid-market, and $4.50 without one is at the expensive end. Our own rate is $1.00 per GB at 100 GB and $0.75 at volume, a disclosed commercial interest.
