Bandwidth & billing
Residential Proxies bills by bandwidth. Pick a plan with a GB allocation, and if you go over, overage is automatically billed from your wallet balance at your plan’s per-GB rate.
| Tier | Bandwidth | Price | Per GB |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 10 GB | $35/month | $3.50/GB |
| Basic | 25 GB | $75/month | $3.00/GB |
| Business | 100 GB | $249/month | $2.50/GB |
| Growth | 250 GB | $499/month | $2.00/GB |
| Scale | 625 GB | $999/month | $1.60/GB |
| Advanced | 1.5 TB | $1,999/month | $1.40/GB |
| Pro | 5 TB | $5,999/month | $1.20/GB |
| Max | 10 TB | $9,999/month | $1.00/GB |

What counts as traffic
Section titled “What counts as traffic”- Every byte sent or received through the gateway counts, including HTTP headers.
- HTTPS tunnels count full encrypted traffic (Shifter cannot see inside TLS).
- Failed requests (4xx, 5xx) count if bytes were transferred before the error.
- The initial CONNECT handshake is not counted.
Monitoring usage
Section titled “Monitoring usage”Real-time usage is visible in the panel — on the dashboard overview and on each plan’s detail page. The graph updates every minute and shows:
- Remaining bandwidth for the cycle
- Daily consumption trend
- Top traffic destinations (by hostname)
Extra Traffic
Section titled “Extra Traffic”When you exhaust your plan’s bandwidth, overage is automatically covered from your wallet. To enable overage, add funds to your wallet in the panel under Billing → Wallet. Once funds are available, requests keep flowing past your monthly allocation.
- Overage is billed at the same per-GB rate as your plan tier (no markup).
- Wallet deductions run every 5 minutes against the bandwidth used since the last deduction.
- If your wallet balance hits zero and your plan allocation is exhausted, requests return an error until you top up the wallet or the next billing cycle starts.
- There is no way to disable Extra Traffic — it is always on when wallet funds exist.
Overage and upgrades
Section titled “Overage and upgrades”- Upgrade mid-cycle: prorated credit for your remaining unused bandwidth (not days) applies to the new plan.
- Downgrade mid-cycle: the new plan starts at your next billing date.
- Unused bandwidth does not roll over. GB allocations reset each billing cycle.
Refunds
Section titled “Refunds”- 3-day money-back guarantee on first purchase of any plan.
- Eligible only if less than 50% of the plan’s bandwidth has been used.
- Request through live chat in the panel — include the invoice ID.
- Gateway & auth, credentials and IP whitelist.
- FAQ, refunds, restricted sites, concurrent connections.
