Why browse through an Iran proxy
The Iranian web is largely its own ecosystem, with domestic marketplaces, classifieds, maps, ride-hailing and video platforms in Persian. Many of these sites are built for visitors inside the country, and some limit or refuse connections from abroad, so a page opened from Toronto or Berlin can fail to load or look very different from the local version.
An Iran web proxy shows the page as a local visitor sees it. Your request reaches the site from a residential connection in Iran, so Persian content, prices in rials or tomans and city listings for Tehran, Mashhad or Isfahan appear as they would at home. It is a way to view the local version of public pages, not a tool for getting around any country's laws, filtering or sanctions.
What an Iranian IP address changes
Iranian sites that check the visitor's country usually show an Iranian IP:
- Prices in rials (IRR), often quoted in tomans, on shops such as Digikala
- Local classifieds such as Divar, with listings for your chosen city
- Persian news, portal and service pages that limit foreign connections
- Domestic video and media sites such as Aparat as they appear in Iran
- Regional delivery, ride-hailing and service pages such as Snapp for Iranian cities
Residential Iranian IPs, not foreign servers
Many Iranian sites treat any foreign address with suspicion, and connections from overseas hosting companies are the easiest to spot. Shifter Web Proxy exits through residential lines from internet providers in Iran, so the site sees the kind of address an ordinary household uses.
The free tool chooses the Iranian exit for you. Paid residential and ISP proxy plans add city and ISP targeting where the pool has coverage, plus sticky IPs that keep one Iranian address across a longer session.
How to use the free Iran web proxy
Iran is already selected in the form above. Write the address in the field, press Browse and finish the short check, and the request leaves from Iran. A separate tab opens on the site through Iran, and its toolbar has back, forward, reload and a country picker. The free allowance is 30 minutes and 100 MB a day, with no signup and no software to install.
To compare a page in Iran with Turkey or the United Arab Emirates, choose that country from the toolbar and the page reloads from there. Changing country uses the same daily allowance.
Who uses an Iran proxy
Iranians living in Canada, Germany, the United States and elsewhere use it to read Persian sites and check what things cost at home. Researchers and journalists look at how Iranian sites present prices and public information to local readers. Developers check how their pages behave for visitors in Iran. Whatever the reason, follow local laws, the terms of each website and any sanctions rules that apply to you.
Need Iranian IPs in your own software
Residential proxies give you Iranian IPs for your browser, scripts or apps, with city and ISP targeting and sticky sessions. ISP proxies in Iran add static addresses that stay put for longer projects.
