The Gap Widens in Smaller Markets
Coverage differences were largest exactly where pools are thinnest. In Germany, DataImpulse served 7,786 live IPs against Shifter's 22,005 in the same test window, which is the difference between a crawl that rotates freely and one that recycles addresses.
Wider Network Spread
Shifter's addresses came from more distinct autonomous systems in every country. Since anti-bot systems key on the network behind an IP, that spread does more to keep a crawl alive than raw address count.
